Unraveling Delusional: The Evolution of a Versatile Rapper

American hip-hop culture, emerged in the 1970s as a form of expression for communities facing social and economic challenges. One of the defining characteristics of rap music is the lyrical dexterity displayed by its artists. Rappers possess an innate ability to manipulate words, constructing intricate rhymes and clever metaphors that leave audiences in awe. The rhythm and flow of their delivery add an additional layer of complexity to their artistry, as they seamlessly ride the beat, accentuating the emotional impact of their words. From the rapid-fire delivery of Eminem to the melodic cadences of Kendrick Lamar, rappers showcase a diversity of styles and techniques that continuously push the boundaries of the genre. One such artist and rapper goes by the stage name Delusional.

Bryan Glick known by his stage name Delusional, is an American rapper and producer. He founded Anti-Authority Records with Terry Gallardo in 2002, he was born on December 17, 1985, in Peoria, Illinois, is a rapper  and producer who gained recognition under the stage name Delusional. He embarked on his music career in Haines City, Florida, in 2001 and subsequently established his own record label, Anti-Authority Records, in 2002. Delusional’s debut album, The Platinum Punk, was released on April 20, 2004, followed by his second album, The Preparation, on May 23, 2006. His collaborations with Jumpsteady and Psychopathic Records during the mid-2000s brought him notable acclaim.

In 2007, Delusional formed a rap group known as the Durty White Boyz, which attracted the attention of major record labels. The group released their initial mixtape, Durty Style, in 2005, and followed it up with Grindin Vol. 1 in 2007. After the disbandment of the group in 2012, they released an EP called “Thug Pretty” featuring the title track. However, their debut album, Firecrackaz, slated for 2013, was ultimately shelved.

During a period of personal struggle marked by substance abuse, Delusional distanced himself from the music scene. However, on September 11, 2015, he made a comeback with his third solo album, Retaliation, a two-disc release packaged as one. The first disc, “Gutter Pop,” showcased a gritty hip-hop sound and included Delusional’s breakthrough track, “I’m Gone,” featuring Crunchy Black of Three 6 Mafia. The second disc, titled “Retaliation: Rapsteady,” combined elements of roots reggae and hip-hop.

Tragedy struck Delusional in 2019 when he experienced the loss of his only daughter to pneumonia. Subsequently, he faced a prison sentence in his home state. Delusional, the American rapper and producer, has released several albums throughout his career, starting with his debut album, “The Platinum Punk,” which was released on April 20, 2004, under his own record label, Anti-Authority Records. This was followed by his sophomore release, “The Preparation,” which came out on May 23, 2006. also under the Anti-Authority Records label.

In 2012, Delusional released the album “420 Party 2012” on April 20th, once again through Anti-Authority Records. However, it’s important to note that additional information or citation is required to verify the existence and details of this album.

One of Delusional’s significant releases is the double-disc album titled “Retaliation,” which was released on September 10, 2015, under Anti-Authority Records. Their first joint project, “Grindin’ Vol. 1,” was released on January 1, 2005, under Anti-Authority Records and Interlude Entertainment. Additionally, they released “Unoriginal & Lyrically Offensive” on August 7, 2008, through the same labels. The group’s EP, “Thug Pretty,” was released on January 22, 2013, under Anti-Authority Records. Furthermore, the release of their debut album, “Firecrackaz,” on May 7, 2013, under Anti-Authority Records was planned, but it is unclear if the album was officially released or not, requiring additional citation to verify its existence. 

Delusional, the American rapper and producer, has made significant contributions to the music industry with his unique style and releases. With a diverse discography and collaborations, his journey as an artist continues to evolve.
