Injuries defined Bol’s career. He was the San Diego Clippers (those were the days). Bol weighed only 200 pounds, despite being tied with Muresan as the N.B.A.’s all-time tallest player. In context, 6-foot-1 Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet is around the same weight.
Bol averaged just 2.6 points per game throughout his long N.B.A. career. He did, however, lead the league in blocks twice. Bol appeared in 14 games with three clubs during his second-to-last N.B.A. season. In 1994-95, he finished his career with a five-game stay with the Golden State Warriors.
Slavko Vranes (7-foot-6)
Portland Trail Blazers were his team from 2003 to 2004.
Slavko Vranes holds the distinction of only appearing in one N.B.A. game while with the Portland Trail Blazers from 2003 to 2004. The Serbian played three minutes during that game while missing his only shot attempt.
He’s one of those foreign guys who never made it in the N.B.A. He’s served in Italy, Iran, Serbia, and Turkey, among other places.
Sim Bhullar (7-foot-5)
Career (2014-2015): Sacramento Kings Bhullar may not be the N.B.A.’s tallest player, but he’s certainly one of the most unpredictable. In 2014-15, he only appeared in three games for the Sacramento Kings, averaging 0.7 points in one minute of action per game.
Tacko Fall (7-foot-5)
Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers (2019-present)
What can we use to compare Tacko Fall’s stature? That makes him one inch taller than the legendary Andre the Giant and less than a foot shorter than Sultan Kösen of Turkey, the world’s tallest individual.
Pavel Podkolzin (7-foot-5)
Dallas Mavericks (2004-2006).
This Russian, who is 7 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 305 pounds, is still a formidable opponent. Podkolzin’s professional career lasted over two decades, despite his lack of success in the N.B.A. He played for both the Russian National Team and the Russian Super League.
During a two-year stint with Dallas, he appeared in all six games, averaging 0.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in 4.6 minutes per game. He was drafted in the first round of the 2004 N.B.A. Draft by Utah, then promptly traded to Dallas for a first-round pick in 2005.
Boban Marjanovic (7-foot-4)
San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks (2015-present)
Boban’s height is unknown. A 2020 Ford F-350 is about nine inches taller. That is a real phenomenon. Some of the other guys on this list of the TOP 10 tallest NBA players ever; this Serbian has had some success.
He averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds on 62 percent shooting from the field in 2018-19 with the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers. Marjanovic’s career is flourishing now that he is a member of the Dallas Mavericks. Given his ungainly 7-foot-4, 291-pound body, that’s a little ridiculous.
