Fix 1: Check the power being supplied to your Netgear Nighthawk router. Is it  steady? Check it once more! Sometimes, you think that everything is in your hands but not. So, better verify it as it doesn’t charge you anything.

Fix 2: Is your router powered on? You know I did this stupidity once. I plugged in my router and don’t put it on power. Means, I haven’t pressed the wall plug’s power button. Earlier also, I have faced similar kind of situation with my smartphone and laptop as  I forgot to press the power button after plugging it into the power socket. So, be careful.

Fix 3: The LEDs! On my router, the LEDs  were kept on blinking and blinking. They are not getting stable. So, I proceeded. Argh! Got stuck with the Netgear Nighthawk router setup process! Nothing was working! I was unable to detect the problem. Then, I decided to wait for the LEDs to become stable. It took 20 minutes! But, I finally got success.

Fix 4: Use your home network to complete the Netgear Nighthawk router setup process. Do not make use of a mobile hotspot or free/ public WiFi. There can be hackers that can hack your router. Yes, many users have faced the same problem. In that case, use an Ethernet cable and connect the router to the modem. Don’t worry! This process is just for configuring the router in a hassle-free way. Once your router gets configured, you can place the devices at the location of your choice and connect them wirelessly.

Doing so will help you cover all the dead zones and access lag-free internet from any nook and cranny of your house.

Want more? Like me, I am not satisfied with the internet range that my Netgear Nighthawk router is providing. So, I added a Netgear WiFi range extender to my home network. Taking the help of my Nighthawk router, I performed the Netgear wireless extender setup process first. You won’t believe it! I am writing this article from the backyard of my house and my extender is in my bedroom.

Note: Consider this as a suggestion only.

Now, let’s get back to the fixes to troubleshoot Netgear WiFi router setup issues, shall we?

Fix 5: For the Nighthawk router setup process, you have to access the setup wizard of your device. And, for this, it is important to have a wireless PC, laptop, or desktop. But, the device’s software version must not be outdated. Else, you will experience the slow performance of the device, resulting in “can’t access the Netgear Genie setup wizard” issue. And, if you can’t access the setup wizard, then how would you set up your Netgear router.

Fix 6: To access the Netgear Nighthawk setup page for router configuration, there is a need to keep the router’s default web address or IP, and correct default login details handy. But, the 192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net will only work if you have entered either of them without any typos and in the URL bar only. The search bar will not work so avoid inserting the URL in the search bar.
